For those of us pundits who believed that PDP will not allow the opposition to make inroads into Adamawa state which has been ruled by the party since the return to democracy in 1999,our fears were confirmed as the status Quo has been maintained. The PDP candidate got reelected beating his closest Rival Engineer Marcus Gundiri with a margin of 61,930 Votes.

Declaring the results in Yola Sunday, the Returning Officer for the election, Professor Mohammed Hamisu. He announced that a total of 685,103 votes out of the 1,843,619 voters in the state were recorded during the election.
He announced that of the total votes cast 26,850 were rejected or declared invalid.
According to him, ACN got 25% requirement in 7 local government, ADC and ANPP got none, CPC got 25% in three local governments, while PDP got the required 25% in all the 21 local governments.
