The long unconfirmed rumour that all is not well in Mo hits Records was today put to rest with Don Jazzy the erstwhile label chief executive confirmed via twitter that the honeymoon is over. Hear him :

@DONJAZZY: Good day friends. So sorry i have been away for long as i have been going through some changes in my life.

@DONJAZZY: It is with a heavy heart that i announce the end of a long Era and the beginning of a new One

@DONJAZZY: Some of the Rumours U have all heard recently re sad but true.

@DONJAZZY: The way forward now is to make sure i keep bringing you guys more of the beautiful music y’all love to dance to.

This puts a stop to all speculations. The Media has been awash with stories of some cracks in the record label which was hitherto the toast of teeming music lovers. An interview granted by the vice president of Mo hits Dapo Oyebanjo (D banj) to Ebony Magazine where he said that the label belongs to him came as a shock to fans who had earlier thought that Don Jazzy was the brains behind the outfit.

For me its only natural that when a business expands to a certain level and the key partners start having a different perception of where the business is headed, the best thing is for them to go their separate ways. One example I have always relied on in the music industry is the break up of plantation boys which afforded us d opportunity to see the genius in 2face idibia.

It is left to see how the mo hits crew that have stayed with Don jazzy will survive the break up.
As one of my friends Otu Ekanem commented “The only constant thing in life is change.Don Jazzy would pull through. he is one of naija’s finest producers.” I wish Don jazzy the best because he is a very likable fellow and he is so humble.
On the flipside, Dbanj’s video Oliver Twist premiered on MTV Base yesterday with cameo appearances from Kanye West, Big Sean, Will I Am, and a few others. But probably the most notable face not in the video is that of Don Jazzy. Does that say something? Strictly Biz nothing personal
