Duke of Damare

Abdulkadir Ibrahim, known by the pseudonym IkonAllah, has emerged as a prominent figure embodying his ideological principles. A 2004 Economics graduate from the esteemed University of Maiduguri, Abdul is the second son in a family of Nine siblings. Born on September 15, 1980, in Kaduna, he hails from Yola South LGA, Adamawa state.

His educational journey includes primary schooling at Police Children School Yola and secondary education at Nigerian Navy Secondary School in Abeoukuta. Prior to university, Abdul spent time at the Nigerian Defence Academy from 1998 to 2000. The transition to civilian rule in 1999 prompted him to pursue his passion for governance, leading him to leave the military.

Believing in the importance of intellectual capacity, Abdul enrolled in university and a computing diploma program, anticipating the rise of information technology. Engaging in student unionism, he gained valuable experience for future political endeavors. In 2007, he contested for the Yola South constituency’s House of Assembly seat but lost in the ANPP primary elections.

Starting as a teacher at Government Day Secondary School Gwadabawa Yola North, Abdul later joined the Adamawa State Board of Internal Revenue as an Inspector of Taxes. His journey in public service continued as the pioneer Head of ADBIR Lagos Tax Office. In 2009, he joined the Federal Civil Service with NEMA as a Search and Rescue officer.

In 2011, Abdul became the acting Media and Information officer in the south west zone, fostering his interest in media and journalism. He pursued a Diploma in journalism at the FRCN school of journalism Lagos. Appointed as the Media and Information officer for NEMA North East Zone in 2012, to 2022

Abdul holds memberships in the Institute of Emergency Management and the Institute of Operational Research, with participation in various seminars and workshops. His diverse interests include paramedics, trauma life support, chopper rescue, project management, quantum GIS, and humanitarian information management.

Beyond his professional life, Abdul’s hobbies include horse riding, reading, traveling, listening to music, and playing golf. He married Mrs. Faiza Abdulkadir in April 2014, and they have two children, Yushau Ramadan (born June 26, 2015) and Bilkisu Khairan (born May 9, 2019). In 2016, Abdul became a fellow of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders Program. Currently, he serves as the Chief Information Officer of New Media at NEMA Headquarters in Abuja.

Parented by Alhaji Ibrahim Aliyu Born son of Yerima Albatan Aliyu Anthony his paternal grandfather was a district officer in Mambila province in the 40s and Hajiya Hassana Ibrahim Daughter to Alhaji Bello Hammanyero (my maternal grand father)a renowned pasturalist and cattle seller from Mayo Below LGA Adamawa state.

He ventured into public service as a teacher with his home state at Government Day Secondary School Gwadabawa Yola North, where he taught Economics briefly before being moved to the Adamawa state Board of Internal Revenue as an Inspector of Taxes where he served as the pioneer Head of ADBIR Lagos Tax Office. In 2009 he was employed into the Federal Civil Service under The Presidency as a Search and Rescue officer with National Emergency Management Agency NEMA.

Abdul married Mrs Faiza Abdulkadir nee Aliyu Bukar in April 2014. The marriage is blessed with two kids a heir to the throne Yushau Ramadan (Marquez of Damare)born on 26 June 2015 and a heiress lady Bilkisu Khairan born on 9th may 2019 .

In 2016 Abdul became a fellow of the prestigious Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders Program.

As an astute crisis communicator he attended various courses in crisis communication and conflict reporting. Abdul is also an Alumni of Armed Forces command staff college operation Haske Biyu 2023
