Adele Sells Another Million Copies of 25 in Second Week

First album to surpass the million mark in two different weeks since records began
Record maker, record breaker. Such is the life of Adele.
After the British singer-songwriter’s new album 25 made history by selling 3.38 million copies in the U.S. in its first week, it has gone on to sell 1 million more in its second, according to Billboard.
In doing so, it becomes the first album to surpass the million mark in two different weeks since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales data in 1991 — and there’s still one more day of data to be tabulated. Her official second week total will be released Sunday.
Adele’s collection, her third studio album, is easily the top-selling album of the year. The only one that’s come close so far is
Justin Bieber’s Purpose , which moved 649,000 units in its first week and added 290,000 the second.
According to Billboard projections , 25 could sell more than 7 million albums in the U.S. by the end of the year.
Last week she broke the single-week sales record, which was previously held by *NSYNC for 2000’s No Strings Attached .
