The National Leadership of the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation (HBATO) has presented a letter of patronage to Nigeria’s immediate past Senate President, Distinguished Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, formally conferring on him the position of North-East Patron of the Organisation.

The presentation was made during a courtesy visit to the former Senate President’s residence in Abuja on Saturday, led by the National Coordinator of HBATO, Alh. Dr. Abba Atiku Abubakar. He was accompanied by the Organisation’s Director General, Alh. Bugema Buhari; National Secretary, Hon. Akinze Moze; Special Adviser to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Inter-Party Affairs, Hon. Chief Letep Dabang; and other members of the Organisation’s National Working Committee.

Speaking during the visit, Alh. Dr. Abba Atiku Abubakar said the engagement forms part of HBATO’s continuing effort to deepen grassroots mobilisation and consolidate elite support across Nigeria’s northern states in furtherance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027. He described Sen. Lawan’s stature and experience as invaluable to the Organisation’s work in the North-East.

Responding, Sen. Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan commended the Organisation for the honour and for its outreach efforts across the region. He pledged to do his best to support HBATO’s activities in his new capacity as Patron, in the collective drive to secure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

The visit was described by the Organisation as warm and productive, reflecting the growing coalition of political stakeholders rallying behind the President’s second-term ambition ahead of the 2027 general election.
